Many generous community members like you have reached out to support Providence caregivers who have been and will continue to be on the front lines during these difficult times. This year, our caregivers have been pushed beyond their limits, yet their resolve to care for our community and patients remains strong.

For years, health care systems across the country have struggled to fill open nursing positions. The pandemic has exacerbated the shortage of nurses and other caregivers. The need to support them is even more critical today.

Meanwhile, many of our dedicated nursing assistants, patient transport workers, phlebotomists and other caregivers would like to become registered nurses, or otherwise enhance their caregiving skills through local degree and certificate programs. That is why funds raised by 2021 Safeway | Providence Festival of Trees will help provide health care and nursing scholarships for Providence caregivers in southern Oregon.

• Help fill the need for nurses by providing scholarships to caregivers who are interested in furthering their careers and already know the benefits of living in southern Oregon
